Mr Andreas Charilaou

Andreas Charilaou is a holder of an MBA, Certified Banker, Certified Accountant as well as other degrees. He has been a lecturer for about 10 years teaching locally and abroad for ACCA. Currently he has been employed at Astrobank Ltd. Andreas is self-motivated, a team player, enthusiastic and eager to succeed through his students accomplishments. According to Andreas the secret to his success is through hard work and by using skills and experiences acquired through his long participation in education. A quote he lives by is to “Always remember that there are no failures in life just first attempts in learning”. 

Chrisanthos FotiadesMr Chrysanthos Fotiades

Chrysanthos is a tax consultant specializing in both international & domestic tax planning & compliance. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and has worked for big 4 and top ten international accounting networks. His working experience is not limited to accounting practice firms as he has worked for a leading oil & gas company in the U.K. He has a B.Sc in accounting, an MA in Economics and is working towards an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT). His areas of specialization is international tax planning and is currently working as a Tax Manager for a leading audit firm. At the moment he is teaching the modules Taxation, Advanced Taxation, Auditing & Auditing in Context.

Dr Demitris KyriakouDr Demetris Kyriacou

Dr Demetris Kyriacou is Special Teaching Staff at CIM and has been a member of the teaching staff for the past 4 years. Dr Kyriacou completed his doctoral studies in 2010 as a member of the ‘Learning Societies Lab’ research group at the University of Southampton, with a subject on computer science focusing on enriching life-long user modelling in the social networking and e-commerce era. Since his graduation, Dr Kyriacou has been a very active academic in the Cyprus scene, focusing his teaching and research on subjects such as computational intelligence, web engineering and programming, and human- computer interaction, among others. His research interests focus around the area of user modelling infrastructures for enabling life-long user modelling.

Dr Fotis Pavlou

Fotis holds a BSc degree in Business Administration and an MSc in HRM & IR. He is an Associate member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development since 2008; he is certified by OEB as an Industrial Relations & Labour Legislation Professional and has obtained a PhD in Business and Management with concentration in HRM at Manchester Business School. During his Doctorate studies, Fotis also worked as a seminar leader of various HRM topics at the University of Manchester. His research interests focus on the way that various HRM elements are intended; implemented and perceived and his favorite quote is that ‘the most important assets of any important business walk out the door at the end of the day’ (Allen & Wright 2008: p88).

Charis MachlouzaridesDr Haris Machlouzarides

Haris Machlouzarides holds an MSc with Distinction in Business Information Technology and a DProf in Electronic Marketing. He is a researcher and practitioner in the field of digital marketing, with extensive knowledge and experience in the implementation of digital marketing solutions internationally. He is a visiting lecturer at the Cyprus Institute of Marketing and the University of West London. His research interests focus on developing innovative digital abilities for businesses to excel in the new challenging international marketing environment. He is the author of the book Digital Marketing Management - The Road to Success, published in 2017.

Katerina GeorgiadouDr Katerina Georgiadou

Dr. Georgiadou is an experienced Lecturer of Law with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. Skilled in International Commercial Law, International Banking and Finance Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, Shipping Law, Business & Corporate Law, Contract Law, Law of Tort, Family Law, Land Law, Public International Law and International Economic Law. 

Dr. Georgiadou’s PhD research thesis focuses on the transformation of the 1980 UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) in the UK legal order. Her research is mainly concerned with private international law covering aspects of international business transactions and transnational economic law but also deals with public international law.  Furthermore, Dr. Georgiadou has attended and participated in a number of conferences in Universities such as Queen Mary, Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield. Moreover, Dr. Georgiadou is passionate about teaching and also undertook seminars for accommodating the students’ diverse learning needs.   Dr. Georgiadou has teaching experience both in undergraduate and postgraduate law degrees in Cyprus and UK Universities.  

 

Maria SocratousDr Maria Socratous

Maria is an academic and an actress. She holds a PhD in Management and is currently working for the Cyprus Tourism Organisation in the Strategy Department and lecturing at the CIM in Strategic Management (MBA course). She is very committed in gender equality and in giving opportunities to all people to progress and meet their full potential. Through her different roles in NGOs Maria has developed leadership and management skills and provides mentoring for young people all over the world. Maria speaks Greek, English, French and Spanish. She loves dancing, singing and playing tennis.

Dr Paris Vogazianos

Dr. Vogazianos has an undergraduate degree B.Sc. (Hon.) in Mathematics with Actuarial Studies from Southampton University (England), a Postgraduate Diploma in Actuarial Sciences from Heriot -Watt University (Scotland) and a Ph.D. in general medicine, field of preventive medicine, hygiene and epidemiology (medical statistics) from the University of Masaryk (Czech Republic). The topic of Dr. Vogazianos’ doctoral thesis was the distribution and determinants of birth weights in the Republic of Cyprus and was the first research project to highlight the problems associated with the high prevalence of caesarian sections in the country. Following his return to Cyprus, Dr. Vogazianos continued to actively participate in epidemiological research and has completed  several research projects in collaboration with, among others, the Pulmonary Department of the Nicosia general hospital, the Cardiology Department of the Larnaca general hospital, The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center, The Cyprus Center for Preventive Pediatrics, The Cyprus audiology Center, The School of Humanities of the European University of Cyprus, the Cypriot Military Hospital Psychiatric Department, The Department of Earth Sciences of the Royal Holloway college of the University of London and the Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus.

Dr Pete MavrokordatosDr Pete Mavrokordatos

Pete Mavrokordatos is currently the Director of Postgraduate Studies of CIM, where he is also teaching both graduate classes for the MBA as well as undergraduate classes.  Pete just returned from the US where he completed his education and for 30 years taught Business and Economics classes at different universities. Pete Mavrokordatos is very active in research and has about 98 articles that have either been presented at different conferences and were published in the conference proceedings or published in different academic journals.  His main research interests are in International Economics, Development and Macroeconomics.

Dr Yiannos Rossides

Dr. Yiannos Rossides holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Cyprus College, a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Arkansas State University (Arkansas, USA), and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Stirling (Stirling, UK) in the area of Marketing and Management. Dr. Rossides has working experiences of over 20 years in several business fields such as sales, marketing, management, human resource management, and investments.  His research interests include the importance of service quality in services and measurement models of service quality in banking and tourism. He is also interested in labor relations and human resource management.

Mr Fanos Tekelas

Mr Tekelas has obtained a BA(Honours) degree in Business and Management (University of Sunderland, 2011) and an MBA (University of Sunderland, 2012). He has completed his PhD in entrepreneurship (University of Central Lancashire, 2017) with special reference to the small fashion retailers in Cyprus and their strategic responses during the 2008’s recession. His research interests lie on small and medium enterprises and the strategy formulation and implementation. Moreover, Mr Tekelas is interested in retail SMEs particularly in small developing economies such as Cyprus. He is currently teaching the Consumer Behaviour module at Limassol campus for the University of West London and the Undergraduate Research Project of the University of West London at both the Nicosia and Limassol campuses.  

George MichaelidesMr George Michaelides

George Michaelides is Finance Manager, working as Financial Controller at a Big 4 Firm in Nicosia, Cyprus. He has firm background on the business arena, with specialization on business intelligence and actionable analytics and he is passionate on constructing winning strategies based on data analysis and structured processes. At his current role, George is responsible to keep the strategy of the Finance department in full alignment with the Firms’ business priorities and objectives, by transforming the department by merely a reporting unit to a strategic partner that enhances the Management’s decision-making process. 

In addition, he is the founder and head trainer of the Negotiation Workshop, an intensive 3-day in person workshop, customized to participants’ needs and tailored to specific tasks and outcomes. It is designed for high performing organizations and individuals who want to rapidly improve their negotiation skills in order to influence people and achieve their goals. The workshop is grounded in social psychology theory and is based on Harvard material and the world-class Harvard Program on Negotiation.

He has won several awards from attending business competitions abroad and was awarded numerous scholarships by Cypriot and Foreign sources for his academic performance (amongst others, the US Fulbright Program, the University of Cyprus and the Youth Board of Cyprus). 

He is a Chartered Accountant with first-class honors business degree from the University of Cyprus. He has attended courses on public speaking, economic theory and diplomacy at the University of California, Berkeley in US and Georgetown University. He has published several articles on negotiation, diplomacy and economic affairs.  

At the Cyprus Institute of Marketing, he is a Visiting Lecturer, teaching the Accounting and Finance courses of the University of West London, Claude Littner Business School. He has been rated as a top performing lecturer by his students and has been the mentor of student teams participating in worldwide business simulation competitions. George is also an accredited PR practitioner and ISO qualified Internal Auditor.

Mr George Skordis

Mr George Skordis has 21 years working experience which of 11 years is in Senior Management positions.
He has 5 years international experience as Deputy CEO in the Banking sector in Eastern Europe.
He has 13 years teaching experience for academic and professional diplomas plus ad-hoc courses in Europe and Middle East. He is a leader but at the same time team player always pursuing the best possible outcome. George is always assisting and coaching his employees and students. He has excellent results record with his students in all courses that he is lecturing. He is generously passing his vast real life working experience to his students.

Mr Yiannis Ioannou

Mr Yiannis Ioannou is the lecturer of Commercial Law at the CIM, Nicosia Campus.  He is a graduate of the University of Sheffield Law School and has obtained a postgraduate degree (LLM) from the same University.  Mr Ioannou is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2000 and has his own law firm in Larnaca. He is also a member of the Cyprus Volleyball Judicial Committee since 2012.  Mr Ioannou is a lecturer of law for the last four years and his areas of interest and research are land and intellectual property law.

Marios CharalabidesMr Marios Charalambides

Marios Charalambides holds a BSc (hons) in Accounting & Finance and an MSc in Business Management from the University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich, UK. He is a Certified Labour/Employment Relations Officer by the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) and the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance. He is a Member of both the Chartered Management Institute, UK, and the Cyprus Human Resource Management Association. Marios is working for CIM as the Director of Human Resources & Student Affairs and as a Senior Lecturer in Business, HRM and Marketing. He worked for several years as the Head of Marketing and Human Resources in leading organizations in Cyprus. He also has extensive experience in education, training and consulting, and has published a number of articles in various business magazines and other publications.

Myria KkaliMs Myria Kkali

Ms Myria Kkali joined the CIM family in May 2017 as the Academic Director of the Nicosia Campus. She is in the process of revising her PhD thesis (which she completed at the University of Nottingham), having successfully defended it in May 2017. Myria is expected to graduate in December 2017. Her research interests include data-based marketing B2B communications and the use of sense making theories in organizational studies. She has presented her research at the 2015 British Academy of Management Conference, held in Portsmouth in October 2016, and her conference paper was published in the conference proceedings.   

Mrs Nectaria Hadjiyianni

Nectaria Hadjiyianni has a degree in Applied Accounting from the Oxford Brooks University, a Master of Laws in International Business with Employment and Human Resources from the Cardiff Metropolitan University and is a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK and of The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Cyprus (ΣΕΛΚ).  She is also a holder of the professional certificate in Life Insurance and Insurance from the Insurance Institute of Cyprus.
Nectaria is a professional banker at a major bank in Cyprus.  Her professional experience includes working in several sectors of the bank with major the Retail Banking Services. She is also a part time trainer in the bank, delivering lectures to bank employees both theoretical and practical. Nectaria is an Accounting and Finance lecturer, developing and delivering courses of Professional Qualification (ACCA) as well as Academic Programs in Accounting and Finance with her primary teaching experience in Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Advanced topics in Financial Accounting, and Financial Statements Analysis.

 

Mrs Theodora Physounis

Theodora Physounis was born and brought up in London, UK. She finished school in Hampstead and went on to study Economics after which she achieved BA (Hons) and Masters Degrees. Since 1992, she has been teaching both Economics and the English language at various levels privately and at different institutions. Theodora taught Economics and related subjects at the University of Westminster, London for eight years where she also undertook research and contributed to publications. She also taught Economics and the English language at the Philips College, Nicosia for nine years. She joined our institution in 2012 where she teaches Economics, Business English, Banking and related subjects and Professional Skills for Business and Finance.

Mrs Andria Christodoulou

Andria has an undergraduate degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Management.  Following her return from the UK she started working in audit houses first as a trainee auditor and subsequently as a financial advisor.  She is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).  During her 10 years work experience she was mainly preoccupied with business analysis and financial management, focusing on investment appraisal techniques and business valuations.  Her principal areas of interest include feasibility studies, cost – benefit analysis and business plans. Andria is a member of our team since 2011.

Mr Constantinos Pelecanis

Constantinos Pelecanis studied BAEcon accounting and finance at the University of Manchester. He has 4 years experience at KPMG and is ACA qualified with another 5 to 6 years post qualification experience. He is currently working at a smaller audit firm dealing with audit tax and accounting. Constantinos is an Icpac member and teaches part time. He is Career oriented, patient, with good managerial skills and positive attitude. He has always been considered as a team member and leader when necessary.

Dr George ZachariadesDr George Zachariades

Dr. George Zachariades is the Director of Undergraduate Studies at CIM. He is also an experienced senior management executive with experience from a multinational corporate environment, and has also worked as a Legal and Business Management Consultant across a wide spectrum of industries globally. Amongst others, he has also had significant HR, training and Organizational development experience.

He holds an MBA and PhD in Business backed by degrees in Marketing (British Chartered Institute of Marketing) and in Law (LLB). He has led many organizations through change management project engagements and seminars throughout Europe, Africa and South America working together with young graduates, managers and leaders with a focus on management skills, leadership, Project Management, corporate governance, finance and strategy.

 

Dr Konstantinos Chatzimichael

He is currently a part-time lecturer at The Cyprus Institute of Marketing and a special scientist at the Department of Commerce, Finance, and Shipping, Cyprus University of Technology. He got his B.Sc. in Economics from University of Crete. He holds a PhD in microeconomics from University of Crete. During 2006-07, he was an exchange visitor at Penn State University, USA. His research interests cover the fields of Production Economics, Economics of Productivity and Innovation, and Panel Data Econometrics. His research has been published in the Journal of Productivity Analysis and in the Food Policy. He has also participated in several European and National research project.

Dr Marios GeorgiouDr Marios Georgiou

Dr. Marios Georgiou has been a Visiting Lecturer at CIM for the past two years, teaching International Marketing and Business Policy & Strategy for the MBA and BBA classes. He continues to be a supervisor for doctoral research for the Business School at Gloucestershire University. He is also active mentor for students at Warwick University and UMIST through official mentor programmes from the respective institutions. In addition to his doctorates and Masters dissertations, he has also authored academic papers. His working experience for over 26 years is with one of the largest oil companies globally (BP Oil). He has held various international management roles. Currently, he is the regional sales manager for BP Lubricants in the East Med and North East Africa regions where his main responsibility is to develop the business and grow the company’s market share in the area. During his PhD research at the University of Manchester (UMIST), Dr Georgiou was working at the University’s chemical engineering department as a Teaching Assistant. He studied Chemical Engineering at UMIST for a BSc and then received a scholarship and a part time teaching assistantship from the university to continue for MSc & PhD in distillation research. During his employment in BP he obtained a distance-learning MBA with Warwick University and, more recently, a DBA with Gloucestershire University. His main research field of interest is foreign market entry. 

Dr Nektarios Michail

Dr Nektarios Michail is a Visiting Lecturer at CIM and a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Commerce, Finance and Shipping at the Cyprus University of Technology. He is currently employed by the Central Bank of Cyprus as an economist at the Department of Economic Analysis and Research. Nektarios holds a PhD from the Cyprus University of Technology, with a thesis on financial development and economic growth. His research focuses on banking, economic policy, maritime economics and shipping markets, energy developments, and the macroeconomic determinants of stock markets. His recent work regarding issues of the Cyprus economy has been published in the Cyprus Economic Policy Review.

Mr Daniel Abdel Malak

Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing with over 14 years of professional Strategic Marketing experience at the highest management level. Daniel has practiced traditional and digital marketing at multinational companies in the automobile, telecommunications and Fintech industries. He has been lecturing Marketing and Strategy related courses at CIMA for the past 5 years and is currently the Vice President of Marketing at an international digital payments solutions provider.

Mrs Debbie PhylactouMrs Debbie Phylactou

Debbie Phylactou holds a degree in Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations from the RMIT University of Melbourne, Australia. She has held several management posts in HR in various industries in Melbourne, including the Airline Industry and heavy manufacturing organisations.  She also sat on Industrial Relations Tribunals, specialising in employment law.   Furthermore, she worked at Latrobe University in Melbourne to set up and coordinate the Occupational health and Safety department. Relocating to Cyprus, she was involved in the HR field in the largest tourism organisations and was Head of Human Resources.  She has been actively involved with external government organisations, the employment court and Trade Unions.   Parallel to her full-time career activities, she has been a lecturer at the Cyprus Institute of Marketing since 1994 as well as a lecturer for the University of West London. Coupled with her industry knowledge and academic contributions, she prides herself on the success of her students since 1994, following their career achievements and ongoing development.

Ms Elena Makedona

Elena Makedona is the Campus Manager, Limassol of CIM. Elena Makedona studied Business Administration and Management at USIU and is a holder of a BSc in Business Administration and MBA specializing in Marketing and Management. Over the 27 years of her work experience in the Educational sector, has occupied various positions from lecturing  undergraduate as well as post graduate students as well as been  appointed as Academic Dean and College Director. In 2010 she held the position of Head Faculty Officer for the School of Economics and Public Business Administration at the University of Cyprus. She has worked for the private sector in the field of Medical disposables in the position of International Marketing and Sales.  Has been a member and approved distance learning tutor for IFS (Institute of Financial Services ) UK and registered as a registered practitioner  with the Higher Education Authority in UK .

Ms Maria Savvidou

Maria Savvidou is a graduate of the "University of Patras" in 2005 with a BSc in Economic Science and a graduate of "Leeds University" in 2008 with an MA in Marketing and Advertisement.

In 2005 Maria has worked with a financial services company in Limassol, where she handles a portfolio of international investors. Continuing her international orientation in 2008 Maria is found to be working within a group of companies, which provide corporate services, and for 5 years in a row, she sets up the Business Development Department of the companies, which she eventually leads, and promotes the companies at an international level through conferences and marketing strategy.

Maria is a lyricist with love towards the arts. This led her to establish MusicEra, a video, music and sound production company, along with the producer in 2009. Since then she intensively deals with business development.

In 2009 Maria got actively involved into teaching, working long hours and weekends to combine all of her passions for work being teaching, the corporate sector and the development of MusicEra. 

In 2012, she meets Mr. Hadjiyannis and she is given the opportunity to work as a part time Lecturer at the Cyprus Institute of Marketing in Limassol transferring her academic and industry knowledge to the Institute’s students. She has been a loyal lecturer since then with excellent feedback from her students!"

 

Mrs Maria Stylianou MichaelidouMrs Maria Stylianou Michaelidou

Mrs Maria Stylianou Michaelidou is the General Manager of the Limassol Tourism Board and Professor of Marketing and Consumer Behavior at the Cyprus Institute of Marketing. She has been pursuing a career as a marketing and management practitioner over a period of more than fifteen years. She has worked as a corporate marketing and communications manager and as a general manager mainly in the tourism, hotel, and destination management industries. Her work has covered nearly every aspect of applied management ranging from market research and strategic planning to press relations and staff training. 

Mrs Michaelidou has successfully implemented European projects in the area of Sustainable development in the tourism industry. At the moment, she is leading the Limassol participation in the Civitas Destinations Project for Sustainable Mobility and a newly acquired Interreg project ‘ΕΥ-ΚΙΝΗΣΗΣ’ in the same field. Utilizing European Funding and strong local networking, she aims to contribute to the significant upgrading and promotion of sustainable mobility in Limassol. She is also actively engaged with professional working committees dealing with cultural, development and tourism issues.

Mr Marios TiminisMr Marios Timinis

He is a holder of a B.A (Hons.) in Accounting & Finance, an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He worked for an audit firm in London for five years. On his return to Cyprus he was appointed as a Deputy Director of the Internal Audit Department of a private Group of Companies for three years and since 2005 he holds the position of Financial Manager. In addition, he was appointed for a period of about two years by the ACCA as a marker of the Advanced Taxation – Cyprus Variant examination paper.  

Ms Myria Kkali Ms Myria Kkali 

Ms Myria Kkali joined the CIM family in May 2017 as the Academic Director of the Nicosia Campus. Mrs Stella ConstantinidouMrs Stella Constantinidou

Stella Constantinidou is a founding partner of the law firm Constantinidou & Karaiskou L.L.C and lecturer of Marine Insurance and Shipping Law at CIM.  Stella is a Qualified Lawyer and Legal Consultant admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2004, and specializes in Corporate and Maritime Law.  She studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science where she obtained an LLB Hons in 2003 and subsequently obtained an LLM in Maritime Law from the University of London in 2005.  Currently Stella is conducting research in the area of Compulsory Marine Insurance.  She organizes talks on researching and writing skills and analysis of legal concepts in the context of providing legal support to Start Ups.

Ms Viktoria SolteszMs Viktoria Soltesz

Viktoria was born in Budapest, Hungary where she also obtained her Masters Degree in Business Finance and Economics with a full Governmental Scholarship, and afterwards becoming a Chartered Accountant. After her degree, she lived in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK where she gathered strong Tax and Accounting knowledge while working for SAGE. She moved to Cyprus in 2008 where she fell in love with the Island, the people and the culture. Viktoria has over 12 years of solid international financial experience and a consistent, proven track- record of leading very efficient Finance Departments of both international Group of Companies and local private companies. She is also very social as she has founded the Cyprus Wine Club and is always up for a laugh!

Mr Kyriacos KyriakidesMr Kyriacos Kyriakides

Kyriacos, US educated (BSc, MBA), brings strong international sales, managerial and business development experience from the commercial real estate, information technology & advanced polymers sectors. At ENECON Mesogios Ltd he is spearheading ENECON's expansion into Greece, a country he understands intrinsically, having founded in Athens his own commercial real estate advisory firm and having successfully led for a number of years Colliers International, a top brand worldwide in commercial property advisory. Kyriacos is also a partner in TEKMOR LLC, an advisory firm in oil/gas platform digitization and waste to energy solutions and services, and always on the lookout for new investment opportunities. Mrs Nectaria Hadjiyianni 

Nectaria Hadjiyianni has a degree in Applied Accounting from the Oxford Brooks University, a Master of Laws in International Business with Employment and Human Resources from the Cardiff Metropolitan University and is a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK and of The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Cyprus (ΣΕΛΚ).  She is also a holder of the professional certificate in Life Insurance and Insurance from the Insurance Institute of Cyprus.
Nectaria is a professional banker at a major bank in Cyprus.  Her professional experience includes working in several sectors of the bank with major the Retail Banking Services. She is also a part time trainer in the bank, delivering lectures to bank employees both theoretical and practical. Nectaria is an Accounting and Finance lecturer, developing and delivering courses of Professional Qualification (ACCA) as well as Academic Programs in Accounting and Finance with her primary teaching experience in Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Advanced topics in Financial Accounting, and Financial Statements Analysis.
